Autumn has arrived and it is a great time to stroll through the garden with the deciduous trees showing their striking colours.


A favourite of mine is the strategically placed Tulip Tree (left) overhanging the Bad Habits Cafe. The Tulip Tree (Liriodendron tulipafera) is an outstanding tree for cool climates. A vigorous grower, reaching 30m or more, it bears deep, green leaves which turn a rich, golden yellow in autumn,
